Bible RatsStudy together, stay consistent

Terms of Service

The plain-language rules for using Bible Rats — a small, honest app for keeping your Bible reading going with people who'll actually notice if you stop.

Effective September 10, 2026

01Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Bible Rats. By creating an account, you're confirming that's true. If you're between 13 and the age of majority where you live, you should have a parent or guardian's okay.

02Your account

You can sign in with Apple, Google, or an email one-time code — there are no passwords to lose. Your username is unique and yours alone once you claim it. You're responsible for what happens under your account, so keep the email or device you signed in with secure.

03What you post

Your check-ins — the passage you studied, what stood out, any reflection — belong to you. Posting them gives Bible Rats permission to store, display, and send them to the destinations you choose (your private journal, or specific groups), so the app can actually work. We don't use your reflections for anything else — no training data, no advertising, no resale.

You're responsible for what you post. Don't share anything you don't have the right to share, and don't post anything illegal, harassing, or knowingly false.

04Groups & sharing

Groups are voluntary accountability circles — Challenges with a start and end date, or permanent Clubs. Anyone with a 5-letter invite code or link can see a preview and choose to join. Once you're in, your check-ins are only shared into a group if you choose to share them, and at the detail level you choose — a full write-up, or just "checked in today."

You can leave any group at any time. If you're the owner of a group you leave, ownership passes automatically to another member, or the group is archived if you were the last one there.

05Community conduct

Bible Rats is for encouraging each other, not for harassment, hate speech, spam, or impersonation. We may remove content or suspend an account that breaks this — we'd rather have a small, honest community than a big, hostile one.

06Streaks & scoring

Streaks, rankings, and points are for motivation, not currency — they carry no monetary value and can be reset or corrected if something goes wrong technically. We compute them as fairly and consistently as we can, but we don't guarantee the app or its numbers are available every minute of every day.

07Cost

Bible Rats is free to use today. If we ever introduce paid features, we'll update these Terms and tell you clearly before anything you do could cost you money.

08Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account — it's immediate and permanent, and it removes your journal, check-ins, messages, and group memberships. We may also suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms.

09Disclaimers

Bible Rats is provided "as is." It's a tool for consistency and community, not a substitute for pastoral counsel, professional advice, or your own study of Scripture. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim warranties of any kind and aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

10Changes

We may update these Terms as the app grows. If a change is material, we'll surface it in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Bible Rats after that means you accept the update.

11Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, and any dispute will be resolved in the courts of São Paulo, SP.
